About the course
Develop practical scripting skills with Python through a series of self-paced, hands-on labs designed to build confidence in writing, executing, and applying scripts in real-world scenarios.
The course begins with the fundamentals of Python on Ubuntu, including writing and running programs from the command line, and progresses into control structures, data types, mathematics, loops, file I/O, string parsing, and data structures.
Learners will also explore more advanced Python concepts, including tuples, error handling, secure programming, inheritance, pattern matching, data visualisation, and data extraction and cleaning.
Practical exercises introduce scripting applications such as verifying file types, building a ping scanner, and performing data analysis using K-means clustering.
By completing the labs, learners will develop a strong foundation in Python scripting and gain practical experience applying programming techniques to automation, data processing, analysis, networking, and problem-solving tasks.
