About the course
Develop practical digital forensics skills through a series of self-paced, hands-on labs covering the processes and techniques used to identify, acquire, examine, and interpret digital evidence.
The course introduces file systems, Windows artifacts, data hashing, Linux drive assignments, forensic imaging, and specialist forensic tools, providing a foundation for conducting structured digital investigations.
Learners will gain hands-on experience working with FAT and NTFS file systems, analysing browser and communication artifacts, examining user profiles and the Windows Registry, and interpreting system and application logs.
The course also introduces memory analysis and the use of forensic platforms such as Autopsy to support evidence examination and investigation.
The course culminates in a forensic case capstone, allowing learners to apply the techniques covered throughout the labs to a practical investigation scenario.
By completing the course, learners will develop a solid foundation in digital evidence handling, forensic analysis, artifact examination, and investigative workflows, providing a strong starting point for further study in digital forensics and cybersecurity.
